William "Bill" Smith

William "Bill" Smith, Brooklyn born, was a kind and loving man, passing away at the age of 83, due to complications from a year-long illness. His departure leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and profound impact on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bills’s first greatest source of joy was his love of Music. As he was growing up he would be in his room always listening to classical music and opera on his record player, as his sister always wanted to come into his room to listen and learn as well. At James Madison High School he became the First Chair Violinist Concert Master which played a vital role as a music leader working closely with the conductor. He used his Uncle’s Ben’s Violin from 1905 that was passed down to him and recently passed it on to his great nephew Ethan who is following in his footsteps. Bill's next greatest source of joy was his deep and unwavering love for his wife, Bonni. Together, they shared 35 years of a heart-filled marriage, built on a deep soul connection that inspired everyone around them. A man of immense generosity, Bill touched countless lives through his work as a Health and Life Insurance agent. His dedication to helping others went above and beyond professional duty; it was a reflection of his compassionate nature and desire to provide support during times of need. Bill's true passion, however lay in contributing to others' personal growth and development. As an Introduction Leader in Transformation and Possibilities and a Self-Expression Leadership Coach at Landmark Worldwide, he empowered individuals to discover their potential and lead fulfilling lives. Bill's dedication to coaching and mentoring left a lasting impact on his participants and colleagues, earning him the heartfelt title of "a patient and sweet Mensch". Bill's vibrant spirit was infectious, whether he was telling jokes, creating laughter, or singing karaoke with loved ones. He even got to be one of the leads in the local community Snappy Senior Follies and became known as the YMCA’s very own Frank Sinatra “Old Blue Eyes” as he sang My Way and It Had to be you. He cherished moments of these connection and meaningful conversations with people, always seeking to uplift and inspire those around him. His Youtube channel is a great sampling of his Love and Joy in the world of music and became very famous as a great source of inspiration to all the nurses and caregivers that took care of him this past year to get to know the real Bill Smith www.youtube.com/@billsmith6034 In addition to his beloved wife, Bonni, Bill is survived by his children, Stacy Michelle Cunningham and Stephen Joel Smith, from his first marriage, as well as his grandchildren Nicholas Smith, Benjamin, and Jack Cunningham. He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law Anne and Stanley Siesel, and his nieces, and nephews, all of whom brought him immense joy and cherished memories. He was a hardcore Marlin fan regardless of how they were doing and couldn’t wait for Spring Training and the games to begin. Throughout life's challenges, Bill faced them with Love, Compassion, Resilience and Determination, guided by his commitment to self-care and well-being. His legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to guide and inspire generations to come, leaving an indelible mark on all who were touched by his presence. Rest in peace, dear Bill. Your kindness, love, and laughter will be deeply missed but forever remembered and your own beautiful Blue Eyes will eternally be Sparkling.
