Richard Leonard Seafer

Richard Leonard Seafer, age 85, of Boca Raton FL, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 17, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of Naomi Ida Seafer (Greenspoon) and Henry Francis Seafer. He was the proud son of a Russian immigrant and spent his early years in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where he developed the strong work ethic and grounded nature that stayed with him throughout his life. Richard built a long and successful career in the garment industry, first in the Boston area and then later to New York City. His work took him across the globe, most often to Asia, on merchandise and buying trips that reflected both his expertise and his deep dedication to his profession. In his retirement years, Richard continued to find purpose and fulfillment through service and community involvement. He proudly dedicated 13 years as a volunteer with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department, rising to the rank of Major. Richard was also an avid golfer, often playing several times a week and sharing treasured moments with friends on the course. Most importantly, Richard was a devoted father and the proud patriarch of a large, loving family. He is survived by his three daughters: Michele Kridler and her husband Jeff, and their children Allie and Zach; Mindi Bush and her husband Rocky, and her sons Matthew and Evan Spind; and Heidi Michaels and her husband Erik, and their children Emma and Sean. He cherished each of his six grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments and milestones. He was affectionally known as PopPop to all his grandchildren and valued every moment with each of them. For many years, Richard shared his life with his loving companion, Jolene Venetianer, whose devotion and companionship brought immense joy, comfort, and stability to his later years. Richard will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, dedication to service, and love for his family. Whether enjoying a morning coffee, a round of golf, or time with family, he brought steadiness, kindness, and authenticity to every moment. He was preceded in death by his parents and other loved ones who now welcome him home. A private service will be held for immediate family, with a celebration of life planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Richard’s memory to MorseLife Hospice Foundation or Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, service, and integrity—one that will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
