Leonard Projansky

Leonard Projansky, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home with his devoted wife of 57 years by his side, after a wonderful day spent with friends and in conversation with his children. He was 83 years old. Born on April 25, 1942, in the Bronx, New York, Leonard built a life that spanned generations and geographies. He raised his family in Rockland County, New York, before settling into retirement in Lake Worth, Florida; a journey that reflected the same quiet determination that defined everything he did. Leonard answered the call of duty as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, serving with honor during the Vietnam War. That same sense of duty and service never left him. For more than two decades, he gave back to his community as an elected school board member; a role he held not for recognition, but because he genuinely believed in the future his children and grandchildren would inherit. A true jack of all trades, Leonard had a mind that never stopped working. He built and ran his own businesses over the years, including a real estate brokerage firm and later a technology company; proof that he moved with the times and never stopped learning. He could write a computer program in the morning and fix a car or boat engine in the afternoon, without missing a beat. Outside of work, Leonard was a man of wide ranging passions. He had a gift for photography, an affinity for science fiction, and an unabashed love of professional wrestling that brought him, and everyone around him, no small amount of joy. But what Leonard was perhaps most appreciated for, by everyone who knew him, was his sense of humor. He had a way of making a room lighter simply by being in it. Above all else, Leonard prized his family. He is survived by his cherished wife, Ruth; his three children, Rob (and his wife Robyn), Matt (and his wife Bonnie), and Steve (and his wife Krissy); his two sisters, Sharon Steinberg and Reba Petraitis (and her husband Richard); and fourteen grandchildren who were the delight of his life: Emily, Jacob, Justin, Ashley, Maddie, Josh, Jeremy, Dylan, Jackson, Evan, Brooke, Kayla, Kylie, and Harri.
