Thelma Seng Fail

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved matriarch, Thelma Lorraine Seng Fail. She passed peacefully in her home at the age of 103, just one month before her 104th birthday. We rejoice in knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity. Her faith was her strength and foundation. Thelma was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 24, 1919 to Nicholas and Lillie Seng. The family moved to Florida when she was a child. Later she met and married Forrest Fail. They had two children, Raymond and Laura. Forrest was tragically killed in a mining accident several years after their marriage. A few years later she married Donald Sloan Jr. The children born to them were Michael and Donice. An automobile accident took the life of Donald in 1969. She continued on as a single mom raising her youngest daughter Donice Michelle Sloan. In 1975 Thelma married Willis Fail. They shared a beautiful blended family life together. They enjoyed many camping trips with their adult children and family. Willis passed away in 2002. Thelma was loved by so many people. She was a very caring and compassionate person to everyone she met. She was always there for you in your time of need. Thelma was a strong, resilient woman. She was a pillar of strength to her family. This quiet, gentle, remarkable lady was an outstanding cook, who loved preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. She will be greatly missed! In addition to her fulfilled life, Thelma worked for many years in the grocery industry. She retired from Publix store #1, Winter Haven, Fl., in 1975. Thelma was predeceased by her parents and husbands, brother Ralph Seng, sister Nita Albritton, stepson Robert Fail and her beloved daughter, Donice Michelle Muccio. Thelma is survived by her children, Raymond Fail, Laura Holloway, Michael Sloan (Becky) and son-in-law Steve Muccio. Her sisters Doris Albritton and Nancy Ervin. Step children Edward Fail (Carol) and Rusty Fail (Cathy). Grandchildren, Richard Fail ( Debbie), Coury Fail (Wadeine), Stephanie Fail Branam (Kenny), Lee Malone, Anthony Maisano, Jason Sloan (Daniela) and Stephen Muccio (Ari). Step grandchildren, Ann Fail, Sue Fail, Lynn Fail and Matthew Fail. She is survived by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are provided by Sinai Memorial Chapels, Delray Beach, Fl. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, August 30, 2023 at St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church, 2100 Yamato Rd., Boca Raton Fl. 33431.
