Michael Marder

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Marder of Port Saint Lucie, FL and Megansett, MA, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us unexpectedly on April 5th at the age of 80. He shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Donna—a partnership built on deep love, unwavering support, and countless cherished memories. Together, they created a life filled with warmth, laughter, and gratitude that he carried with him every single day. He was a proud father to his daughter, Dena (Marder) Hoberman, whom he often called his greatest accomplishment—a reflection of the love, guidance, and values he held dear. His joy only grew with the arrival of first his son-in-law, Matthew Hoberman (despite their constant banter regarding baseball team loyalty) and then his two granddaughters, Jane and Hayden, who were truly the lights of his life. He treasured every moment spent with them, forming close bonds that will remain unbreakable even in his absence. He enjoyed a close relationship with his brother, Jeffrey Marder and his wife, Kathie despite the miles between them. Visits and vacations together were always filled with an abundance of both laughter and great wine! A man of quiet appreciation, he never took life for granted. He often expressed how thankful he was for the beautiful life he and Donna built together. Whether in simple daily routines or special family gatherings, he found joy in the presence of those he loved most. He was rarely alone, always accompanied by Donna and his loyal golden retriever, Sofie, whose loving companionship brought him much happiness. He will be remembered for his deep devotion to family, his grateful spirit, and the steady, loving presence he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Services were held with immediate family, and a private celebration of life will be held later this spring.
