Etah Carol Rubin Levine

LEVINE, ETAH CAROL RUBIN (neé Mauer), 91, formerly of Pembroke Pines & Hollywood, FL, Brooklyn, New York, Brockton and Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Deerfield, Illinois passed away peacefully from dementia on Saturday April 13, 2024 in Anaheim, California with her family at her side. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Etah was the second & youngest child of Eastern European immigrants (Austria Hungary & Russia) Michael and Rose Mauer (neé Zirinsky) Raised in the Burrough Park section of Brooklyn and a gifted student in her youth, Etah graduated at age 16 from New Utrecht High School in the Bensonhurst section. Etah was offered three college scholarships but due to her mother being widowed so young -when Etah was only three-Etah needed to refrain from attending college full time to work to help support her family. At one time a bookkeeper but later Etah spent decades working in her own successful family business with her second husband, Albert Rubin (Ace Supply/Bee Electric and Ace King of Fences). She worked in all business operations including sales and accounting. Etah loved to sing and participated in the choir at Temple Solel for decades where she met her third husband Alex. Etah was very active in Temple Solel and was the Sisterhood President for four consecutive years as well as being on the Temple Solel Board of Directors. Etah loved drawing and painting with watercolors-she started around age 14 and then she took it up again during her retirement. She loved presenting her friends, family, and everyone involved in all aspects of her life a gift of a personalized usually framed piece of art. Predeceased by her beloved -third husband Alexander Levine of 17 years ( d. 2011 aged 103) and her second husband Albert Rubin of 20 years (d. 1992 aged 80). Etah was a devoted and loving mother to Alan Rubin (neé Rothman) his partner her daughter-in-love Karen M Sussman and the step grandmother of Christopher “Ridgely” Sussman Howe. Also predeceased by her beloved eldest son Michael R Rubin MD (neé Rothman) (d. 2010 age 52) and his father her ex-husband Joel Rothman (d. 1996 aged 66) Survived by: Nephews: Michael Schwartz, Eddie Schwartz, Mark Nepo and Howard Nepo Grand nephew Matthew Schwartz Grand nieces: Carly Schwartz, Kerry Schwartz, Franchesca Schwartz-Benedetto, Sadie Schwartz, Rosesheska Schwartz, and. and great grand nieces: Chloe Michelle Benedetto and Charlie Marie Benedetto.
